Neath RFC Lottery - How it Started......

Neath RFC lottery was introduced in 1990. After a slow start and new management in 1991, membership grew rapidly and reached over 950 members in the early 90's. However, the introduction of the National Lottery dealt us a hard blow and membership is currently running at 530.

The lottery was introduced in order to generate funds to improve facilities at the ground and to enable us to improve the playing surface and safety facilities.

During the summer months the ground is reseeded, vertidrained and resanded with 90 Tonnes of sand. All safety lines etc. are repainted and all potential safety hazards are corrected. All damaged seating is replaced and numerous other maintenance problems are dealt with.

The finance for all these requirements is assisted by the provision of some £12,000 from the proceeds from the Lottery which has raised some £150,000 for the club over the 10 years that it has been in operation. An equivalent sum has been paid in prize money.

With some 530 members in the lottery at the current time we are raising some £1000 per month for the club and £1000 per month in prizes.

We need so much because there is so much to do especially the repainting of the Main Stand steelwork and the roof of the Town End Terrace (The Cow Shed - Ed).

The first prize is £750 and there are special prizes like free season tickets, International Tickets, and club mascot. Why not join our Lottery by completing an application form.
